Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress who is best known for the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hai Koun, and Beta Saajan. The actress began her career in the 1980s and came to prominence with her performance in Tezaab, a film in which she was a part of the cast alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her next role was in Dil where she was on screen with Aamir. As a child her Mumbai-born dancer started studying at a very early age. In her early years, as she began to act as a child actress, most films she produced weren't successful. She eventually found success and went on to become one of the top actors on the Indian film industry. The marriage of her mother led to a hiatus in her career. Later, she returned. In recent years, Dixit was a key player in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggle of Indian women. Dixit is nominated to win fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she won eight. The actress was also honoured with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her reputation also includes for social activism.
